A look at the top 10 on-chain crypto asset holdings, with Vitalik ranking third

Recently, blockchain intelligence platform Arkham has counted the top 10 personal on-chain crypto asset holdings. The dashboard counts detailed information including token holdings and balance history, as well as the distribution of asset portfolios on each chain and historical daily balances.

The data shows that the top five holders on the list currently have a total of $3.631 billion in digital assets. However, more than 35% of them (or $1.283 billion) are marked as "inaccessible". This article takes you through the top 10 and their corresponding holdings.

Note: Arkham's ranking statistics are as of March 2024, but the specific on-chain holdings are the latest data. In addition, the addresses counted by Arkham are not all addresses.

Justin Sun

Justin Sun has $1.089 billion in his crypto wallet, ranking first. His assets mainly include $276 million in USDD, $242 million in TRON's native token TRX, $135 million in BTT, $97.38 million in BTC (1,457 pieces), $12.9 million in SHIB, $7.69 million in WIN, and $4.41 million in FLOKI.

According to statistics from on-chain analyst Yu Jin, the main assets currently held by Justin Sun through multiple Tron and Ethereum addresses include: 598,900 ETH (worth about $1.902 billion), 5.364 billion TRX (worth about $602 million), 458 million USDD (worth $458 million), 315 million TUSD (worth $315 million), 300 million USDT (worth $300 million) and 158.9T BTT (worth $209 million), with a total value of about $4.165 billion.

Rain Lohmus

In second place is Rain Lohmus, founder of LHV Bank, with $815 million worth of cryptocurrencies. Lohmus's wallets are topped by ETH ($815 million) and Xdata ($1,800).

But it is worth noting that Lohmus has lost access to his wallet due to the loss of his keys, and he also has no access to the 250,000 ETH he received during the 2014 Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Rain Lohmus has said he is willing to share the ETH if someone can recover the wallet.

Vitalik Buterin

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin ranks third with $803.8 million in assets in his wallet, mainly ETH, holding about $800 million worth of ETH. In addition, it holds $830,000 in WETH, as well as some tokens such as KNC and SDOG.

Stefan Thomas

Ranked fourth is Ripple's former CEO CTO Stefan Thomas. Stefan Thomas' assets are all Bitcoin (7,003), worth about $468 million.

But Stefan Thomas is also unable to access his IronKey Bitcoin wallet. After eight failed attempts, Thomas now has two attempts left, after which the wallet will be encrypted forever.

Encryption recovery company Unciphered has offered to unlock his wallet, and the team was able to access data similar to IronKey after "200 trillion attempts." This may bypass the drive's 10-attempt limit. But Stefan Thomas has not yet agreed.

James Fickel

James Fickel, founder of Amaranth Foundation, has $459 million in wallet assets, including $393 million in AWSTETH, $65.94 million in AUSDC, $200,000 in ETH, $11,700 in USDC, and a small amount of OP, COMP, and STETH.

Patricio Worthalter

POAP founder Patricio Worthalter holds approximately $235 million in crypto assets, including $144 million in ETH, $65.26 million in WETH, $24.53 million in RPL, $1.14 million in ENS, $104,930 in USDC, $49,800 in ARB, and a small amount of GODS and GATE.

Luggis (@luggisdoteth)

Whale Luggis (@luggisdoteth) holds $47.75 million in crypto assets, including $12.4 million in STETH, $12.07 million in MKR, $10.73 million in AWSTETH, $8.42 million in ETH, $2.33 million in SNX, $1.79 million in GHO, and a small amount of WRLD.

smartestmoney.eth

The whale smartestmoney.eth currently holds about $81,600 in assets (PANews Note: Arkham has made several large transfers recently after compiling the list, including $18.66 million in ETH to Binance, so the on-chain holdings are small). This includes $43,200 in SUDO and $25,800 in USDT.

Winslow Strong

Cluster Capital Managing Director Winslow Strong holds $30.61 million in crypto assets, including $23.26 million in AWBTC, $4.45 million in GRT, $880,000 in SQT, $590,000 in SWISE, and a small amount of KP3R, etc.

The whale vladilena.eth holds $9.62 million in assets, most of which are ezETH, and a small amount of ETH, PUMLS, TSUKA and other tokens.
