The main supporters of Worldcoin met with Malaysian leaders to strengthen ties with the government

PANews reported on April 24 that, according to The Block, Sam Altman and Alex Blania, the main supporters of the iris scanning project Worldcoin, recently had a meeting with Malaysian leaders. While trying to improve their relationship with the government, they also demonstrated their commitment to user data and privacy protection. According to a post by X, Blania is the CEO and co-founder of Tools of Humanity as well as a key developer for the Worldcoin project. He held talks with representatives from Malaysia's digital department on Tuesday. In its post, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation stated: "We met with Nordstar and its impressive portfolio companies including...Worldcoin." The company also shared a photo of Blania attending the meeting.

According to a post by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim last Friday, Blania joined in a video call with Ibrahim along with another co-founder of Tools for Humanity - Altman. On Tuesday, Blania reposted Ibrahim's message expressing his gratitude towards this Malaysian official. This meeting between Worldcoin's chief public advocate and Malaysian officials took place after series actions which seemed aimed at demonstrating that this project takes issues related to data collection and privacy seriously and is willing to work more closely with regulatory bodies and government officials.
